About Me

I have been working as a professional makeup artist and skin specialist since 1997. Initially I trained as a Beauty therapist and completed a BTEC National Diploma before working in a Beauty Spa, whilst working at the Spa I established a talent for wedding makeup and started training with Vincent Longo and Christian Dior. I then broadened my skills and studied a Higher National Diploma in Media Makeup and Fashion, including special effects.

I was then asked to work on a number of feature movies including The Asylum, Harry Potter and The Last Samurai. The experience I gained from working with Nick Dudman on Harry Potter taught me the tricks of the trade and opened my eyes to the amazing talents in special effects. Dan Parker and Jo Allen were the next specialists I learned from and working close with them and Tom Cruise on the set of The Last Samurai couldn’t have come at a better time during my career.

After working on Movies for several years I was asked to be involved in a TV period drama called ‘Fingersmith’ for the BBC. The demands of Film and TV work are at contrasting scales of the sector and the time requirements are totally different. The opportunity to work in both Movie and TV has shown me the importance of being a perfectionist and necessary ability to work with attention to detail.

I have also worked in many aspects of fashion including catwalks at the London Fashion Week and several photo shoots for fashion magazines. As a Makeup artist it is also very important that I understand good skincare and transfer my knowledge on to the client. I have widened my experience of the industry in this field by working with a Cosmetic Clinic and Dermatologists to research the best products and protocols for different skin types. This gives me an overall Makeup service to meet the current demands set by the individual.

During my career I have always worked at weddings over the weekends as this is a service which I believe every Makeup artist should build on. The experience is vital as every client is different and the requirements of the day can vary substantially. Weddings are a particular area which I enjoy and I strive to make the bride confident, beautiful and happy.

I pride myself in achieving the best results for my clients.
